Moonlit Mission scored by 1 1/4-lengths in Sunday’s Tah Dah S. at Belterra Park to become Shackleford’s seventh stakes winner of 2019 and pushing the Darby Dan stallion past $4.1 million in progeny earnings, second among all Fourth-Crop Sires. He is also the only sire of his generation to have three graded winners this year.
Moonlit Mission, 2, has now won two straight after an Aug. 7 maiden win and Sunday’s 1 1/4-length score in the Tah Dah (VIDEO).
The winner is owned and trained by Charlie J. Williams and was bred by Belvedere Farm. Out of Moonlit River, she hails from the same family as Demoiselle S. (G2) winner La Rosa and the multiple stakes winner Daylight Ridge. Her third dam Twilight Ridge won the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1).
